Trust and data
What happens to your fileafter you upload it.
SheetScope reads the values in your file, keeps it in your own workspace and changes nothing without your approval. Here is what it keeps, who can see it and what SheetScope AI receives.
Eight safeguardsbuilt into the product.
- 01
Nothing in your file runs
Formulas are never run. Macro files are refused, including .xlsx files with macros hidden inside, and a size guard stops compressed files that expand too far.
- 02
Your original is kept
Each import makes a new version that never changes. The upload and earlier versions are kept.
- 03
Only your account can open it
Other accounts get “not found” for your projects, files, jobs, reports and downloads, and signed-out requests are refused.
- 04
Sign-in links, not passwords
Each link works once and expires after 20 minutes, and links are stored only as one-way hashes. Each email address can ask for at most five every ten minutes. Sessions last 30 days in a cookie that scripts on the page can’t read.
- 05
Downloads safe to open
Text that Excel could run as a formula is neutralised in every cleaned-data download, CSV or Excel.
- 06
Reports don’t move
A report is a snapshot. Its figures stay the same when you change the dashboard or import a new version.
- 07
Exact money arithmetic
Amounts are stored and added as exact decimals, so totals don’t drift through rounding.
- 08
Deleting is deliberate
Type the project’s exact name to delete it. Its files, versions, reports and SheetScope AI answers are then removed for good.
What SheetScope AI receives, job by job.
SheetScope AI helps with three jobs. It is never sent your whole file, and every figure you read is calculated by SheetScope.
Suggesting your column mapping
- What it receives
- Your file and sheet names, column names, value types, counts, number ranges and up to three short examples per column. Columns whose names look personal, such as name, phone, email, address, BVN or NIN, send no examples or number ranges.
- What it never receives
- Your whole file or complete rows
Answering a question
- What it receives
- Your question, your column labels, the periods in your data, and your product and branch names. Customer or segment names only when there are 30 or fewer, such as Retail and Wholesale.
- What it never receives
- Your whole file or complete rows
Writing a summary
- What it receives
- The calculated figures already on your screen.
- What it never receives
- Your whole file or complete rows
Answers are kept in your workspace, so asking the same thing again doesn’t send another request.
We don’t use your data to train AI models.
SheetScope AI never calculates a figure and never claims why sales changed.

How the figuresare checked.
Every import balances
Rows found equal rows included plus rows left out, and each row left out has a reason.
Saved data is added up again
When a new file isn’t combined with an earlier version, its saved rows are added up again, and a mismatch stops the build.
Tested on four public files
Four public sales files of different shapes are part of the tests, and their totals match a separate calculation.
Check the sample yourself
Open the demo’s Data quality tab to see this check on the sample file, including the rows left out: a TOTAL row and a row with no sales value.

SheetScope showswhat your records say.
It calculates from the rows you upload and shows how each figure was reached. If a figure is wrong in your file it will be wrong in your dashboard too, and the Source rows panel shows the rows it came from. It can’t see sales that aren’t in your file, and it isn’t financial, tax or accounting advice. Check figures before you act on them.
